The Art Circle Public Library has a good collection of local history and family
books in the reference department. They also have Cumberland County census records,
local newspapers, and the older courthouse records on microfilm. Margo Brown
is also a contact person in the genealogy section. She welcomes family information
(pedigree charts, family group sheets, etc.) for inclusion in the family files.

Census Information
Dates available on microfilm: 1860, 1870, 1880, 1900, 1910,1920, 1930. These can be found on microfilm at the Art Circle Public Library in Crossville, at the Tennessee State Library and Archives in Nashville and at other libraries having interest in genealogy. All of the Cumberland County census records have been transcribed by Carol Ramsburg. They are available for purchase by contacting her. 1860 CENSUS
A transcription of the 1860 census can be found in the book "Cumberland County's First One Hundred Years" by Helen Bullard & Joseph Marshall Krechniak.
1870 CENSUS
A transcription of the 1870 census was published by Patricia B. Kirkeminde in 1980. It can be found in some libraries.
1880 CENSUS
A transcription of the 1880 census was published by Byron & Sistler. It can be found in some libraries. The LDS has the 1880 census for the entire country on their website at: www.familysearch.org .
1900 CENSUS
A transcription of the 1900 census can be found in the book "Facts, Folks, and Photos of Cumberland County,Tennessee" compiled by Barbara B. Parsons. This book is out of print but can be found in some libraries.
